Sprout

A Wooden Robot That Waters Plants and Learns From Them

Meet Sprout. My first home-made garden robot. Built from a Raspberry Pi, a few of wires, and a lot of 'what if'.

The Origin Story

I wanted to build something tangible. Not another AI wrapped tool in the cloud but something with a body, a purpose, and a job. That's where Sprout came from.

I started with a basil seed, a leaking reservoir, and no formal training. And now? It waters itself!

My journey began when I noticed my plants wilting while I got lost in projects. But instead of just setting reminders, I thought: 'what if the plant could take care of itself?'

So here it is. A robot that lives with the plant and helps it thrive.

How It Works

Hardware

Raspberry Pi 4, soil moisture sensor, peristaltic pump

Logic

Moisture threshold → triggers pump → logs timestamp

Software

Python running locally

Logging

Local CSVs, no cloud

Future Plans

Add ML to learn watering cycles, add solar, more sensors

What I Didn't Know (But Learned)

Why It Matters

Sprout is a vision. A symbol of caring through code.

It's an experiment in TinyML, off-grid autonomy, and local intelligence.

It's also proof of DIY, curiosity, and the belief that maybe anything is possible.

A Bit About Me

I'm not a traditional engineer. But I build, I learn, and I ship. I'm someone who can prototype, solve weird problems, and turn ideas into reality, reach out if you want to connect.
